Pastoral Support and Well-being

Bream C of E employs a SEND and Inclusion Lead, Lucy Nelmes, who has level 4 mental health diploma and the NASENCo award as well as fully qualified teaching status. She has been SENCo within the schools in the trust for over 10 years and is employed by Bream C of E School 3 days a week. If you have any concerns for your child/ren please contact her via the office or via email: inclusion@sfat.uk

 

The school employs an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant), also known as The Listening Post, who is able to support children on a 1-1 basis (with parental consent) or as part of a group. Her name is Poppy Turpin West. Poppy can be contacted via the office or via email: pturpin@lydney.gloucs.sch.uk   if you have any concerns regarding your child/ren and would like to discuss this directly with Poppy.

Poppy is extremely experienced in working with children, having previously worked with the outreach team and alternative provision. She has recieved ELSA training via the Educational Psychology team and has on-going supervision with this team. She is trained in Lego Therapy and Drawing and Talking therapy. 

 

We also employ a Family Support Worker, Hayley Badman, who works every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. She can work directly with children or with families to provide the support needed. Hayley can be contacted via the school office or directly via email: hbadman@bream.gloucs.sch.uk

Hayley is an experienced family support worker who was a senior practitioner for Barnardos and has worked for many years with children in various education and nursery settings. She is trained to lead parenting classes and is able to provide support around healthy eating, sleep and various other needs.

My Happy Mind letter for parents

Young Minds Matter is a safe and confidential mental health support service developed for children and young people up to 18 years of age in schools currently in the Trailblazer project across Gloucestershire. 

The team can offer you support if you are struggling with things like anxiety, low mood, and poor sleep or similar. This can be either face to face in school or via a virtual online platform. To meet with someone from Young Minds Matter you can ask a teacher/member of staff in your school to make a referral for you. Please see privacy notice below for details
