Mental Health and Wellbeing

At Bream C of E School we have chosen to explore World Mental Health Day by wearing green. Green is the recognised colour to represent mental health.

This day is a day to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters. It’s also a day to let people know that it’s okay to ask for help, no matter what you’re going through.

As the theme of World Mental Health Day highlights, ‘mental health is a universal human right’. It is an important thing for us all to discuss and explore ways to support each other and ultimately ourselves.

Bream C of E is proud to be a Trailblazer School meaning we are able to work closely with our colleagues in the NHS to refer young people for low level mental health support and are also part of the NHS pilot project, My Happy Mind. We feel by actively supporting  and educating our children to understand and develop ways to manage our mental health and well-being we will be able to support them to grow into confident adults who feel equipped to manage the various challenges life has to offer.

If you would like any further information or support, please do pop in and speak to us.

Maintaining good mental health is just as important as having a healthy body. It affects the way children think, feel and act.

As a parent, you play an important role in promoting your child's mental health and recognising when there may be early signs of difficulties.
