Year 1 Trip to Viney Hill

Sports Day 2022

The children thoroughly enjoyed competing in a carousel of activities during their sports day this year.  We saw great team work and perseverance.

Acorn Class

Acorn class have really enjoyed learning about their local area and where they live!  They did such brilliant map work which they were super proud of.  They have been so lucky this year to have Year 6 reading buddies who have regularly visited reception and the children have loved it. Children in Acorn class have also developed into brilliant gardeners!  This year they have planted lots of different flowers in our patch and have grown our own food just like farmers!  We have grown; tomatoes, peas, cucumber, lettuce and courgettes!

Year 5 have had a brilliant year and have had many great experiences. During Science Week, the Year Fours and Fives had a great time designing, making and modifying gliders with the aim of achieving the greatest distance.  We had great fun at the Viney Hill Christian Adventure Centre where we built dens, had marshmallows around a fire and went on the assault course. On World Book Day, we dressed in our pyjamas, shared our favourite books and read stories around a campfire.

Experience Pentecost

Year 5 and 6 thoroughly enjoyed there time at Sainte James Church learning about Pentecost through Experience Pentecost which was organised and run by one of our Governors, Ann Hemsley and a team of volunteers.

Easter Experience

Y5/6 children worked together to investigate and understand the Easter story. They then devised a whole school experience using the stations of the cross to guide them.  The Y6 children led the experience at each station,  supported by the Y5 children acting as tour guides.  Parents and family members joined the school for a wonderful afternoon.
