Daily Worship

Collective Worship is central to the life of the school and the whole school community come together to worship every day. Our worship reflects our Christian Values, focusing on one each term on a two-year rolling program.

2022 – 2023
Autumn – Forgiveness, Spring – Truthfulness, Summer - Friendship

2023-2024
Autumn – Respect, Spring – Courage, Summer - Trust

We have a daily Collective Worship where the whole school comes together in the hall. During worship, we read stories to help us explore a value or a moral; sing songs or hymns; reflect and participate in quiet thought and enjoy coming together as a whole school community. During worship we focus on our worship table and light three candles during the liturgy. This provides a focal point as we gather as a whole community for collective worship and reflection. Collective worship is planned to include biblical material and Christian teaching, focusing on Jesus Christ and on God as Father and Holy Spirit. Worship is led by school staff, pupils, local Ministers and Clergy members and the local ‘Open the book’ team. Pupils take an active part in worship and we welcome a range of guest speakers to help us explore the locality and world around us.

We celebrate our children’s achievements through our weekly celebration worship. We recognise children who have embodied our Christian Values as well as excelled in their learning throughout the week.

Reflective Prayer Spaces

At Bream C of E, we aim to create an environment where children are given space and time to reflect and pray in their own personal way.

The school encourages children and adults to offer their thoughts, reflections and prayers in the many prayer and reflection spaces we have around the school.

Bream Worship Team

Each term, we ask children from each year group to become a part of our Worship Team.

This role includes leading worship in assemblies, supporting the teaching staff during Monday's Vision and Value's Assembly, Wednesday Worship and Friday's Celebration Assembly. They help spearhead and galvanize Worship in our school.

Open the Book

Our brilliant Open the Book team come in to lead worship each Tuesday.

The children thoroughly enjoy listening to the bible story and they also get the opportunity to take part with the team.
